Become a Partnership School
Young Ladies Club partners with schools to help them re-engage young women who are under performing or disengaging from their academic studies. We deliver mentoring programmes weekly after school for two hours during term time.
Young women are partnered with a mentor (mainly from a professional or academic background) under the supervision of a project leader. We focus on activities that promote self-esteem and confidence; in addition to this we also focus on academic support particularly literacy skills.
Research from the University of Glasgow states that sustained mentoring is positively associated with academic attainment, and helps to improve behaviour and increase confidence.
