In December, the Young Ladies Club was selected for a visit honouring the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence by the MOPAC (Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime) team.
We had the pleasure of meeting the CEO of MOPAC, Darren Mepham, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime (DMPC), Kaya Comer-Schwartz, and Head of Tackling VAWG at MOPAC, Jain Lemom.
This visit was a great opportunity to showcase our work and achievements through our VAWG Prevention Programme. We were able to provide an overview of our service for Black and minority victims and survivors of domestic abuse. We presented our safety planning guides that we use to support victims and survivors – A copy is available on our website here: https://youngladiesclub.com/vawg-prevention-programme-landing/safety-planning/ and also our spiritual abuse support guide.
The positive response from the visit has further motivated the YLC team to continue to deliver essential tailored services to Black and minoritised victims/survivors of domestic abuse in London.
